This drink stems from the Brazillian Caipirinha, but gin is used in place of the traditional ‘cachaca.’ It’s super simple – the key is crushed ice with generous amounts of lime & mint.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of chopped mint leaves
  • 2 limes, quartered
  • Crushed ice
  • 1 shot each of Mt Gay Rum & Rogue Society Gin
  • Soda water, to serve 

To make:

  1. Place the sugar, mint and lime in a cocktail shaker & muddle until the mint has broken down & the limes have released their juice
  2. Add the crushed ice, rum & gin & shake well
  3. Pour into a glass & top with soda water
